Fire red lacquered Bowl

Fire red lacquered Ceramic Bowl
After burning in many layers of seshime urushi lacquered red and over coated with black urushi then partially scraped off. I have added extremely much red shû pigments to the lacquer. The out side of the bowl was polished only with Tonoko and oil to give it a slightly mate gloss to look aged. The inside I have rubbed with pure nashiji urushi with latex gloves and took off as much of the lacquer as possible. It is very glossy without polishing. In candle light the inside seam to glow like a charcoal fire.
