Lacquered Ceramic Bowl
Just out of the furo a new caramic bowl, urushi finished. The out side was created by burning in man layers of seshime urushi. The urushi was applied not evenly. It shows an interesting color range from dark brown to reddisch orange.The inner side of the bowl was created by burning in many layers of black urushi. The final coat was quite thick and it turned our really smooth and extremely glossy. With a tooth brush I sprayed very liquid seshime urushi, then powdered with gold dust. After drying the inner side was rubbed with diluted nashiji urushi. Bowl 13.50 x 9.00 cm
