Urushi lacquer work is another discipline I am studying and executing for making artisan timepieces. Dry lacquer is again another technique. The challenge in this craft is to make and imitate things in lacquer that look like something which has been made in any other material such as iron, copper, wood and more.

This "Iron" Tsuba has been built completely in Uriushi lacquer by applying hundreds of layers of lacquer and finished with lacquer and various metal powders. The production time was around 90 days
