Kin Hari Table Clock



Description:

A Tea Caddy «chaire» with a Lid in the shape of a watch. The body of the chaire and the watch are made of ebonite and lacquered with gold needle urushi «Kin Hari Nuri» lacquer. The "metal parts" are all made in a technique called "Kinsokumitateai", they are built from Urushi and Brass «Sentoku» powder. The dial is a rotating hour disc on which the hours and minutes are printed in white color. The disk is also lacquered with gold needle lacquer. The time (hours only) are read at 12 o’clock. On demand a minute hand can be added. But it is a contemplative watch. Size 90 x 50 mm.
